Senator George Mitchell to call on young people to 'take the torch'

On 16th of April young people from across the island of Ireland will come to hear from Senator George Mitchell who chaired the talks leading up to the Good Friday Agreement in 1998. Senator Mitchell will talk about 'passing the torch' to a new generation of peace builders in a landmark speech at a fun, engaging and inspiring event at the Whitla Hall.

Senator Mitchell is the former Chancellor of Queen's University and has retained a strong interest in the development of our society here, not least through the work of the Mitchell Institute. We are very excited that so many of those we work with will get to hear from him directly and we are confident that it will inspire those young people to commit to building the promise contained in the Good Friday Agreement and building Northern Ireland as a 'Beacon of Hope' in a troubled world.

Participation is by invitation only, so please reach out to us if you have a group of young people who would like to participate.
